ATHLETICS: ROSSES AC NOTES

Training continues on Wednesday and Friday for all age groups at the new time of 6-7pm. Fit4Life group in Carrickfinn on Monday and Wednesday at the earlier time of 6 pm. Walkers and new members welcome. Coaches: Elise Gillespie and Sinead Diver.

The last of the Thursday evening session at the Industrial Estate in Gweedore will take lplace next Thursday 2nd May with a light session before the North West 10k on Sunday 5th May where we will look to get a strong showing from all senior athletes in the club that day. It is a great family event to jog, run or walk. New vests are now in stock so please contact Ita Gallagher on 087 1309536 for details.

The local Naomh Muire club are hosting a 5k on Friday May 3rd in the Banks and with many of our athletes also involved in the club it will be good to support.

Well done to the Rosses and Gweedore athletes who ran in the Letterkenny 5 mile last Thursday night in Letterkenny with Noreen Mc Gee the first of our athletes home in 35.44 and followed by Noel Boyd in 36.32, Helen Mc Cready in 36.46, Michael Mc Elroy in 37.47, Sinead Boyle in 38.05, Anne Harkin in 39.22 and Myles Sweeney in 41.00

Well done to all the local athletes who competed in Ardara on Saturday last with Shaun Mc Shane getting a fine third place in 37.34; Manus Mc Hugh 41.40; Noreen Mc Gee 46.20; Deirdre Diver 46.50; Helen Mc Cready 47.19; Noel Boyd 47.49; Owen Coyle 47:52; Sinead Boyle 49.29; Elise Gillespie 49.43; Anne Harkin 51.16 and OJ Friel 59.39.

Well done to Valerie McGinley, Brade, who had a good run in the Nice Half Marathon.
