MAN CHARGED WITH THREATENING TO KILL GARDA AND ASSAULTING OTHERS

A Letterkenny man has appeared in court charged with threatening to kill or cause serious harm to a Garda Sergeant.New court

John Boyle appeared at Letterkenny Circuit Court and pleaded guilty to six different charges.

The court heard that Boyle, 46, of 14 Leck Cottages was charged with a number of offences which took place at Lower Main Street in Letterkenny on August 14th last.

He is charged with assault causing harm to a number of people under the Non Fatal Against the Persons Act.

Those Boyle is charged with assaulting include Sean McFadden, Terence McGill and Ciaran McBride.

He was also charged with threatening to kill or cause serious harm to both Garda Sgt Aidan Doherty and Sean McFadden.

Boyle pleaded guilty to all six charges before the court.

The case relates to an incident outside Voodoo Nightclub.

Judge John O’Hagan adjourned the case until next October and agreed to have a probation report carried out on the accused.
