BREAKING NEWS: MAN AIRLIFTED FROM ERRIGAL AFTER FALL

A man had to be winched by helicopter from a Donegal mountain earlier today after falling and hurting his shoulder.RESCUE

The man, who was in his 40s, fell on Mt Errigal just before 1.30pm.

Members of the Donegal Mountain Rescue Team contacted Malin Head Radio station who contacted Rescue 118 helicopter based in Sligo.

The helicopter arrived a short time later and winched the man to safety from the mountain.

The man, who is believed to be from Northern Ireland and was one of a party of three walkers, was airlifted to Letetrkenny General Hospital.

It is understood the man could be suffering from a dislocated shoulder.
