Lifford AC was represented with four runners in the Belfast City Marathon.

Daniel Hannigan

Daniel Hannigan

Daniel Hannigan was first home for the club in a excellent time of 2:54:18 with an impressive 22nd position for the Lifford man in a field of over 2000 runners.

Next to cross the line was Maurice Sharkey in 3:12:34 and 93rd overall. This was a personal best for Maurice who knocked off over 2 minutes off his time form the same course last year. A great run by these both as they both finished in the top 100.

Next to cross the line was Gerard Campbell in 3.:34:42, this was another strong run for Gerard who had been struggling with injury for the past few weeks.

The final Lifford man to cross the line was Shaun Colhoun in 3:44:52.

Overall this was a fantastic day for all the runners who took part from the club.

Lifford also had three women in action on Day 1 of the Donegal Track and Field Championship. Isabella Breslin won the Masters 200 metre event in a time of 32.07.

Ann Marie Mc Glynn and Natasha Adams both went in the 3000 metre event. Ann Marie recorded 9:39:22, Nastasha Adams recorded a personal best of 10:22:38 finishing both 1st and 2nd respectively.
