RESULTS

Senior

The lads travelled to Annagry to play Naomh Muire today. Dunleavys charges were hoping to continue the good vein of form they had recently found. We lost the toss and played into the wind. Mac Cumhaills started brightly but squandered early chances. Naomh Muire took their chances and went into a three point lead. Three frees from Darren O Leary saw Mac Cumhaills draw level and the first half finished on a scoreline of 0-03 each. The second half started with a point from talismatic full back Seamus Mc Ginty. This was followed by points from Benny Mc Loughlin and a free from Marty O Reilly. Mac Cumhaills were awarded a penalty which produced a brilliant save from the Naomh Muire keeper. Darren O Leary pointed the resulting 45. The referee seemed to play an inordinate amount of injury time but eventually the final score was Naomh Muire 0-08 Sean Mac Cumhaills 0-09

Scorers for Mac Cumhaills were Darren O Leary 0-05 (3f),Seamus Mc Ginty 0-01,Marty O Reilly 0-02 (1f),Benny Mc Loughlin 0-01.

Reserves. Naomh Muire 3-13 Sean Mac Cumhaills 0-09

Third Team.

The third team travelled to Glenties last night for their second game of the campaign. The Mac Cumhaills men fared well in the early stages on the game with it being 1 point each with 15 minutes gone. However things soon changed when Glenties scored a lucky goal as the ball broke inside the square and it landed perfectly at the feet on the Glenties centre forward who had the simplest of tasks to put it in the back of the net. Glenties continued to dominate for the rest of the second half with 3 more unanswered points. Leaving it 1-4 to 0-1 at half time. The Mac Cumhaills men came out fighting in the second half and battled well and with a bit more luck and some more composure in front of goal the result might have being different. But overall Glenties were the better team and deserved to win as they won all the key battles around the field.

Naomh Conaill 1-7 : Mac Cumhaills 0-4
