ATHLETICS – ROSSES AC NOTES

The Annagry 5k which is part of the Donegal Grand Prix will take place on Friday 24th May at 7:30pm with registration from 6:30pm onwards in Sharkeys Lounge. Course is much flatter and faster than in past years. All runners, joggers and walkers welcome!!RUNNERS AT THE BURTONPORT 5K

Reminder to athletes born 2000 and older that the closing date for all age group championships in Antrim Forum on June 8th is this Thursday with the club. Give your name to any of the coaches asap.

Fit4Life group in Carrickfinn on Monday and Wednesday at the earlier time of 6pm. Walkers and new members welcome. Coaches: Elise Gillespie and Sinead Diver.

Sprint and long jump training on in Carrickfinn on Wednesday evening from 6pm – 7pm for 14 and older age group with coach Aidan Gillespie.

As part of the Relay for Life events the ‘Mullaghduff Dynamos’ doing a relay run from Mullaghduff to Letterkenny this Saturday 25th May to raise funds for the Relay for Life 2013. Starting from the school in Mullaghduff at 10am on Saturday a group of walkers are going to start the relay by walking to the Station crossroads in Gweedore where the runners will take over from them and take it in turn to do 5Ks each to the Mountain Top where the walkers will take over again. Walkers and Runners are needed to do 5k blocks so if you are interested and can help in doing a leg of the relay that would be brilliant. You can contact Elaine on 0877979418 or Ita on 087 130 9536

The Rosses Primary School Sports was held in Carrickfinn on Friday last which was a very successful day. Joy for Roshine National School, Maghery as they won the Mc Devitt Cup for Best Small School and Annagry won the Large school section. There were some excellent performances on the day by all and a huge thanks to the schools, teachers, children, parents and all who helped on the day for making the day such a huge success.
