BREAKING NEWS: Gardai and the emergency services are at the scene of a serious accident at Lurgybrack outside Letterkenny.

It is understood at least one person has been trapped in a car after a collision close to the local national school.

It is unclear as to the extent of the person’s injuries.

The accident happened just after 4.15pm.

Traffic is down to one lane but appears to be flowing.

One eye-witness told Donegal Daily that the scene looked bad.

“There is a car which has appeared to have collided onto its side.

“The emergency services are at the scene and they appear to be trying to cut the person from the car,” he said.

There are two fire tenders at the scene as well as three ambulances and two units of the Gardai.
