The Celtic manager told McGuinness to concentrate on helping Donegal retain the All-Ireland over the next couple of months.

McGuiness works as a performance consultant with the Glasgow club, but Armagh man Lennon, has given McGuiness the go ahead to devote all his time to the All Ireland Championship.

“I see Jim every day when he’s here. He sits basically just outside my office. I had a good long chat with him when I came back from Portugal,” Lennon told the Irish Daily Star.

“Basically, I’d like Jim to be a little less involved because I’d like him to concentrate on Donegal for the time being and as we’re getting into the teeth of the season round October and November Jim can really do his stuff again.

“We’re really happy with the stuff he’s bringing to the younger lads – we’ll see the benefits of that in a year or two’s time.”
