JUDGE ORDERS ARREST OF ‘JOHN DOE’ MAN IN HOME OF DEAD CLERGYMAN

July 19, 2013

gavel1A JUDGE has ordered the arrest of a man who has moved into the home of a dead clergyman without permission.

He took over the house in February, Judge John O’Hagan was told.

This happened as its owner Charles Reede planned to sell it for €60,000 and give the money to Donegal charities, said his barrister Fiona Crawford.

Mr Reede’s brother the Very Rev Samuel Reede passed away at the age of 87 in October 2010.

He had served as Dean of St Eunan’s Cathedral in Raphoe in the 1980s and 1990s. He was laid to rest in the grounds of the historic church.

Judge O’Hagan granted an injunction and vacant possession of the house at Rooskey, Newtowncunningham.

He has ordered the mystery man known only as John Doe to be arrested and brought to court on July 29.
