Well done to Bridget McDyre who competed in the u15 girls javelin at the all Ireland juvenile championships at the weekend. This was Bridget’s first major event with a javelin and she finished an excellent 7th with a throw of 24.59.

There was victory for the Gweedore and Rosses Ladies Relay team in the Cancer Coastal Challenge in Dunfanaghy on Saturday last. Noreen McGee was first in action as she tackled the tough Horn Head 12K which she did in 01:11. Elaine Mc Cafferty, Loughanure showed her kayak skills to handover to Maria Timoney for the 24k cycle to the base of Muckish where Sinead Diver raced up Muckish in a great time to handover to Marie again who cycled the 19k to Dunfanaghy and lead to the team to a 5 mins victory over a Belfast team. Well done to Edward Harkin who was second in the individual Men’s section and also to Helen McCready who was third individual woman. Well done to all who took part.

Date for the Diaries: Saturday July 27th Gola Island 5k 2:30pm. Tuesday July 30th Dungloe Festival 5k 7:30pm.
