OUTRAGE AFTER TOURISTS SAVAGED BY STRAY DOGS IN MALIN HEAD

dogDOG owners have been warned today that they face prosecution after TWO separate attacks on tourists.

The latest incident happened at the weekend when a terrified and bloodied Spanish tourist managed to make his way to the Coast Guard station at Malin Head to seek help.

He had suffered several serious cuts to his arms and legs.

Staff there called in a doctor and the victim was rushed to hospital by ambulance for treatment.

Donegal Daily has learned that this is the second savage dog attack on a tourist in Malin Head recently.

Three weeks ago a distraught Belgian tourist sought help in Malin Town after driving there in his camper van after suffering multiple bites to both legs in an attack by a dog.

Today Inishowen councillor Jack Murray told us: “I am very concerned about these incidents. It must have been horrific for tourists coming to see one of the most beautiful parts of Ireland.

“I will be talking to the council about what action can be taken and I would urge all dog owners to behave responsibly so that both local people and tourists alike can enjoy visits to Malin Head without this happening.”
