Comhbhrón

Its with deep regret we record the passing of John Diver a member of the Rosses Rovers team winners of the Dr’McGettigan cup in 1948.Naomh_Muire_Crest_b

A native of Gola Island and a national school teacher on Aranmore Island, before the family moved to Donegal Town. John lined out for St’Crones and Rosses Rovers in the forties. The Black and Amber of the Lower Rosses teams draped his coffin on his final journey to his place of rest on Aranmore Island. Deepest sympathy to the Diver family Ar deas Dé go raibh a anam uasal.

Cuireann an club a gcomhbhrón i iúl do theaghlach Uí Chnaimhsí uilig ar na Dúchoraidh ar ócáid bháis Dan Ó Cnáimhsí. D’imir Dan le Leitir Mac a’ Bhaird, An Chlochán Liath agus Dún na nGall agus bhí sé mar Uachtarán Oinigh ar fó chumann Na Rosa. Ba é mac le Biddy Fheilimidh as Rann na Feirste, deirfiúr le scríobhneoirí iomráiteach ‘Ac Grianna.

Prior to the Naomh Muire/Glenfin match on Sunday in Mullachderg a minute silence was observed as a mark of respect to Paddy Eibhlin Devenney and John Diver.
