There was a great display of football at a large Under 10 footballing blitz which was hosted by Robert Emmett’s GAA Club, Castlefinn on Saturday.

Four teams took part in the blitz, Robert Emmett’s, Terman, Naomh Mhuire and Four Masters. The organizers were blessed by the great weather and the full attendance, as under a late summer sun, Robert Emmett’s was filled by Under 10 footballers.

Each of the clubs were able to field two teams and the games were all intense, with all young players giving their utmost with a great display of skill, which bodes very well for the future of football in the county.

The Four Masters boys, who have been unbeaten throughout the season, faced very stiff competition from all teams but they maintained their composure and their excellent team work to continue their winning streak.

Damien Dunnion, Manager Four Masters Under 10’s, commented, “we’re very happy with the performance of the boys today, they really pulled together as a team and with the intensity of the games they had to dig very deep to win through. The boys have certainly matured as they have progressed realizing the benefits of team work. Through their hard work they have remained undefeated in every game they have played this season”.

Damien Dunnion, added, “The organization and effort that was put in to ensure this blitz happened was excellent and the skill level shown by all young players from all the clubs certainly bodes well for the future of football”.

The final Under 10 blitz is due to take place on Saturday 14th September. Venue is to be confirmed.
