DONEGAL CONNECTION AT EVERTON CONTINUES AS JAMES MCCARTHY SIGNS ON

The Donegal connection at Everton continues to grow following the signing of James McCarthy to the Premiership giants.  James-McCarthy

McCarthy’s grandfather is from the Rosses and it’s this connection that makes Glasgow born McCarthy eligible to play for the Republic of Ireland.

He joins Killybegs native Seamus Coleman and Shane Duffy whose father comes from Letterkenny at Everton after signing for 12 million pounds from Wigan Athletic.

McCarthy has been an influential player for Wigan and helped them to the FA cup last year at Wembley.

The move will also please Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni who has made no secret of the fact he wanted McCarthy to seek a move back to the Premiership following relegation with Wigan last term.
