soccer-ballUSL League Cup game at Traigh a Loch Mon 2nd April 2013

Fanad Utd 1 – Bonagee 4

Fanad took the lead in this game within 2 minutes of the start as Brian McVeigh capitalized on a defensive mix up between 2 Bonagee players and the young midfielder rifled home from 20 yards. However things went downhill from here for the home team as they soon found themselves 2-1 down as Anthony Appiah raced through and finished coolly and Bonagee were soon in the lead as Gregg McGee scored direct from a corner to leave it 2-1 to the visitors at half time.

The second half started like the first with an early goal as again Anthony Appiah went through on goal after a defensive error and rounded the keeper but squared it for Aiden McLaughlin to finish from a yard out. The visitors were soon coasting as they scored a fourth through Appiah again. Fanad did create a few half chances late on but it was too little too late. Final score 4-1

Ref: Joe McHugh

Best for home side, Ryan Mc Gonigle and James Mc Cahill while Bonagee had the best player on the pitch in Appiah
