LETTERKENNY HOMES RANSACKED IN RECENT BURGLARY SURGE

written by Rachel McLaughlin September 19, 2013

burglaryA recent spate of burglaries in Letterkenny has residents on high alert and calls for increased Gardai presence on the streets.

Houses in the areas Wolfe Tone Place and Glencar were broken into at the beginning of this week.

Untold damage was done as invaders ransacked the unoccupied homes.

There are many elderly and vulnerable people living in these areas.

Letterkenny Town Mayor Pascal Blake called for more Garda patrols on the streets to catch the criminals out before another home is violated.

As cutbacks limit Garda resources and restrict overtime, it is unknown whether an increased street patrol system will be possible.
