Four Masters U-8 squad – doing their club proud

Four Masters GAA Club Notes

Four Masters Under 8’s footballers: The Final Training session took place on Monday 23rd September. A sincere thank-you to all the players and their parents who have put in so much effort and provided so much support over the season from all the coaches.

There will be one last footballing event for the young players on Saturday 28th September. This will be an internal tournament for all Four Masters Under 8 boys, including those who only started football training. The Memorial Tournament will be named after Sean Dunnion Sr, who devoted his life to the Four Masters GAA Club. This has been kindly organized by the Dunnion family and will be the first year of the Memorial Tournament.

U21’s: The Under 21 Men’s team had a fantastic win in Ballybofey last Saturday evening against a very spirited Cloughaneely side. The U21 squad are now through to the County Semi Final. A huge well done to the entire squad and to Manager Paddy Muldoon and assistant Manager Eamonn Gorrell.

U16’s: The Under 16 squad had a great win against St. Naul’s in a Divisional Final, played in Ardara on Monday 23rd September. Congratulations to all the squad and to Manager Paul O’Gara and assistants, Paul Timoney and Kieran Murphy. Thanks for all the support. Four Masters 0-15. St. Nauls 3-04

Camogie: Well done to the 8 girls from Four Masters (Aine Gillespie, Niamh Doherty, Aine McGroarty, Neasa Gorrell, Leah O’Donnell, Hollie Roper, Sarah Oates and Emer Burke) who were part of the U14 County team who took part in the Cooper U14 All Ireland competition in Dublin, playing against Kerry, Wicklow and Roscommon and took part in the half time parade during the Camogie All Ireland Final in Croke Park. The girls were a credit to the County and their individual clubs. Saturday saw the Finals day for 5/6th class with Letterkenny Gaels beating Burt and St Eunans beating Four Masters. Well done to all teams. This Saturday (28th Sept) sees the first of the Secondary School blitzes to be held in Carndonagh starting at 12.30 promptly. Gaels. v MacCumhaills; Burt v Carn followed by MacCumhaills v Burt and Carn v Gaels. Na Magha and Four Masters have a bye in this round.

Under 10’s: The Under 10 footballers will be visiting Ballyshannon this Saturday 28th September to play in their final blitz of the year. This team of young players remain undefeated throughout every game this season. Many of the boys will be moving into the Under 12’s next year and hopefully they will carry this with them. The boys have all played very well and have matured over the past six months, realizing, that when they pull together as a team they are capable of producing great football. It’s been great to see them all developing consistently as team players. Good luck to all the boys.

Ladies Football: Four Masters Ladies Minors will face Aodh Ruadh in Ballyshannon on Sunday 29th September. Throw in 12.30pm. The very best of luck to all the players.
