DONEGAL will see temperatures of up to 21C this weekend as forecasters said the county will be the hottest place in Ireland today.

And the good news is that the mild weather is set to continue through next week, says Met Eireann.

Whilst southern parts of Ireland will be hit by rain and thunderstorms, Donegal is basking in glorious sunshine.

“The very best weather this weekend is in the west and north west,” said a Met Eireann spokesman.

“Temperatures inland could reach 21C today, with a couple of degrees below that on the coasts.

“There will be a bit more cloud on Sunday but it will continue very mild and warm with temperatures around 18C.

“It will be very mild again later in the week, especially for the start of October with temperatures again 18 to 20C.”
