power cuts donegaldailySIXTEEN homes in the Milford area are still without power after Saturday’s storm.

The high winds knocked thousands of homes off the grid, plunging families into darkness around 5.30pm on Saturday.

ESB network crews worked into the night to restore power, with most homes back online between 8pm and 9pm.

Today ESB says just 16 homes remain without power and there is no estimated time of restoration.

The weather has calmed this Sunday, though it will be cold and we will get some scattered showers.

Motorists are being warned to take extra care today as surface water remains from yesterday’s downpours.
