A man who allegedly attacked a doorman in Letterkenny has been sent forward for trial to the Circuit Court in January.
Ian Balfour, a father-of-four, was remanded on his own bail in relation to the attack at the Central Bar in Letterkenny on February 23rd last.
Garda Inspector Michael Harrison told Letterkenny District Court today that while the accused faced a Section 3 assault charge, this may be amended in light of the medical report on the victim.
Balfour, 36, of Bellanaleck, Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh has been signing on at Ballyconnell Garda station in Cavan.
He appeared in court wearing grey suit and tie.
Some of the victim’s family were also in court for the short hearing.
Balfour, a part-time farmer, had been out on a stag party with friends before the alleged incident happened.
Judge Paul Kelly remanded him on his own bail and ordered him to continue signing on on a weekly basis.
