StEunansClub Notes – Naomh Adhamhnáin – 02.12.13

In Association with Letterkenny Shopping Centre

The U21 Hurlers were denied the opportunity to play the county final last week due to exams and hopefully common sense can prevail and the final played on another date. It’s a shame that they had to wait 7 weeks from their semi-final for this to happen.

Comhghairdeas leis an grúpa bailéad a bhain craobh na contae i Scór na nÓg i nGleann t-Súilí ag an deireadh seachtaine. B’iad seo a leanas an ghrúpa. Amy Ní Chléirigh, Jessica Nic an Bhreitheamhán Ní Ghallchóir, Laoise Ní Riaghain, Grace Ní Chunchúir, Gráinne Ní Dhomhnaill agus bhí siad faoi stiúr Sinéad Ní Dhomhnaill. The céilí dancers under the direction of Mary Maguire and Finola Ferry gave an excellent performance and lost out by the narrowest of margins to Malin on the night. In the recitation section Niall Hannigan gave a tremendous performance and also lost out by the narrowest of margins to the eventual winner from Gaoth Dobhair. In the ceol uirlise section, our musicians also achieved a second place and the club was also represented in the county final in the Tráth na gCeist section. Bhí na hiomaitheoirí uilig as an chlub tharr barr agus tá an chuid is mó acu faoi aois ar an bhliain seo chugainn arís. Go néirigh leis an ghrúpa bailéad i mbabhta leath cheannais Uladh nuair a bheidh siad i néidean buaiteoirí Dhoire agus Fear Manach.

The Minor Board AGM takes place in the Clubhouse this Thursday night, Dec. 5th with a 7pm start. The Minor Board Presentation night takes place in the Mt. Errigal on Sunday, January 12th.

Girls U10 training is in the Convent Gym on Wednesday’s between 6pm and 7pm followed by U12’s from 7pm to 8pm, cost is €2. U14 Girls train on Thursday’s in Game On, Kiltoy between 6.50pm and 8pm, cost is €3. This will be the last U-14 training session of the year.

The Friday Hurling Academy has moved indoors to Game On every Friday between 6:30pm and 8pm, cost is €3.

The club will act as hosts to this year’s County convention on December 15th in the Mt. Errigal Hotel. Anyone available to help out on the day can contact Charlie McAteer asap on 087-2668633.

There was one winner in this week’s Lotto Draw. Greg Harkin (card) matched all 4 numbers and wins €1,250. The numbers were 1-11-16-17. Next week’s jackpot is €1,000.

Good luck to all our members doing exams over the next couple of weeks.

Oisin O’Boyle and Hugh O’Donnell have club crested gloves for sale in various sizes as part of an Enterprise Project at school. They cost €15 per pair and would make a great Christmas present. Contact Oisin for details on 086-2463335.

We send our sympathies to Adrian Shiels and family on the death of his mother Teresa in Dublin on Tuesday morning. Her funeral Mass is on Friday at 11am in the Cathedral with burial in Leck afterwards. May She Rest In Peace.
