Tir Chonaill Gaels Club Notes:GAA BALL

Seniors:

The seniors started off their season with a Championship match last Sunday against Neasden Gaels at Colindale.

Considering all the rain that has fallen in recent weeks the pitch was in decent condition along with a majority of the Gaels players.

While too much cant be read into a game played this early in the year, the Gaels showed a much higher level of fitness and sharpness with it showing on the scoreboard.

There were debuts for Declan Lennon and Niall Boyle from Armagh along with Darren Gilsenan (Sligo) who all put in solid performances.

Best on the day were Aidan Downes, Gary Magee, Aaron Bradley, Barry Michell and Cathal Magee.

Final Score TCG 5-18, Neasden Gaels 1-4:

Juniors:

The junior management will hold a players meeting this Friday 24th January in the clubhouse with a 8pm start.

Can all players please contact manager Ricky Williamson (07736 741566) this week to confirm your availability.

Old Faces:

The club were delighted last Sunday to see two former players from the 80s and 90s who showed up to watch our championship match against Neasden, Brian Breen (Leitrim) and Timmy Mc Bride (Donegal) were outstanding servants to the club in their time here and still have a great appetite for the game. Great to see you lads.
