TRIATHLON – LARGE CROWD TURNS OUT FOR LETTERKENNY 24/7 MEETING

The Letterkenny 24/7 Triathlon club had a turnout of over thirty members and non members on Friday for the information night on triathlon topics.

The presentation lasted three hours and it was informative and well presented.

On sunday it was the turn of the juniors where the first training camp of 2014 was held in aura with an enthusiastic group of youngsters coached by club members. Further training camps will be advertised and will be open to children aged between eight and sixteen.

On the racing front Aidan Callaghan ran well in the Ulster intermediate cross country in Lurgan over 10k in typical cross country conditions.

Fin Begley, despite a mishap at the start, finished strong in the women’s masters event over 4k while Cathal Roarty ran in the 8k masters race.

It is possble to now book on line on the triathlon ireland website for the club duathlon on the ninth of March. Other events for the diary are the Buncrana duathlon 16th of march the Saint Eunans duathlon ninth of february and the club try a tri on the 27th of April.

Club training continues Wednesday pool sesion at eight at Aura , Thursday track session at 8pm at Aura and cycle session leaving Aura at nine thirty .
