The Captains’ Drive-In has been rescheduled to take place this Sunday March 9th. Tea/coffee and registration will take place from 10.30am so come along and join the Club Captains and Mr President launch the 2014 season of Golf. Good wishes are extended to Lady Captain Catherine, Mr Captain Tom and Mr President Barry for the year ahead.

There is no opportunity for members to hibernate this winter with the variety of competitions currently on-offer. The first winner in the 9 hole Spring Surprise competition (Back 9) was none other than Marian O’Sullivan who has maintained her good form of play throughout the winter months. The Runner up was Lady Captain Catherine with 14pts B.O.T. The front 9 Spring Surprise, 36 handicap competition, 13 hole re-entry Easter hamper continue and the new 18 hole March re-entry has started.

The 2014 fixtures list is currently being finalised and will be available within the next week or so. If members would like to receive the fixture list in electronic format then please contact competitions secretary Karen with your email address.

A very enjoyable family afternoon was hosted by the Ladies committee in the clubhouse on Sunday past with the annual Bingo. This fundraiser was very well supported and the variety and number of prizes that were given away added to the fun of it all.

Best wishes to Tracy Spence and Cynthia Fuery when they play Cruit Island Golf Club in the 1st round of the Irish Mail foursomes- the date and time of this match is still unconfirmed but must be played before March 18th. Both ladies have a great record in this competition and we hope to be sharing the excitement of the 2011 season with them again.
