The Emergency services including the Gardaí, ambulance service, Irish Coast Guard, the RNLI ,Donegal Sub Aqua Club, Donegal Mountain Rescue, the Irish Water Safety Association and the Fire Brigade all assembled at the Quay, Donegal Town for a real life Super Hero Sunday.
More than 20 vintage cars were also on display.
The inaugural event was a fundraiser for the Donegal Bay Rowing club based in Donegal Town.
Jonathan Kennedy, one of the organisers and a member of the club told Donegal Daily: “While it was a fundraiser for the club, it was also a showcase for the emergency services where the public could actually meet potential life savers.
“One of the notable features of the day was the natural interaction of children who were allowed free reign to activate alarms, flashing blue lights, sit in fire engines and lifeboats.
“The arrival of the impressive Sikorsky Sligo Coast Guard helicopter made a big impact on the crowd gathered.”
