Buncrana GAA NotesBuncrana gaa logo

Congratulations to our young clubman Darrach O’Connor who played a starring role in Sunday’s semi-final victory over Antrim in Clones. He had just finished his Leaving Cert exams this week and quickly swapped the pressure to get Leaving points to scoring them on the football field. Darrach scored 2 great points from play but capped it all with a wonderful goal that knocked the resistance out of a gallant Antrim. Next up will be either Monaghan or Armagh in Donegal’s fourth Ulster final in a row. Well done Darrach.

Donegal Minors made it a double day’s joy as they cruised past Antrim to reach their first final since 2006. Clubmen John Campbell and Caolan McGonigle played a big part in this great achievement.

Senior Training

Seniors & Minors Hurling training is on Wednesdays at 7.00pm. All players are urged to make every effort to attend.

Seniors, Reserves, U-18, & U21 Football training is on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 7.30 in the Scarvey. New players always welcome!

There was no Senior Ladies game this week. Training every Wednesday at 7.30 in the Scarvey. New members always welcome.

Club Jerseys

Elizabeth Anne is now taking orders for the new Buncrana club jersey. Keep in mind lads that they are player fit/tight fit. If you want to order one let her know the size and number on back you require, price €50. EA also has club shorts and white shorts are in stock.

Underage Reports

Feile na nGael Hurling Div 3A U14 Hurling

The Buncrana team gave a great display of themselves in this prestigious competition reaching the quarter finals against Na Magha. Both teams played an exciting game of hurling and unfortunately the Buncrana lads came off second best in the end.

Buncrana were hosts to Tommy Larkins from Galway who they played in their first game in the Scarvey. The visitors proved too strong on the day for our lads, going in at half time with a good lead, but Buncrana made a game of it in the second half and came off the pitch with heads held high.

Buncrana was the only club in Inishowen to host a team and all the travelling players and their parents were given a tremendous welcome and shown a great time by our club.
