 MALIN GAA CLUB NOTESMalin GAA

LADIES FOOTBALL:

The Malin Ladies travelled to Convoy on Thursday night for their third game of the season. With the break in matches taken for the Leaving Cert and along with their ongoing rivalry with Convoy the team were raring to go, to make it three wins out of three and they didn’t disappoint. The Ladies started well with an early goal kicked in from a free by Emer Lafferty. This was followed by some good points that were worked through the centre of the pitch with some great team support play. The hard work put in by the Ladies Team over the last couple of weeks really came to fruition in the second half when the score was back to within a goal, however the team really dug deep to ensure that the gap was widened again and by the end of the match the Malin Ladies came out deserving winners. The match was a great team performance with a squad of 20 travelling to Convoy. The girls will continue to train Tuesday and Thursdays with the remainder of their league matches scheduled for the end of June and July, see match time updates on our facebook page. The Ladies first championship game will be against local rivals Urris. Well Done to the all the Ladies involved, let’s keep the momentum going now with the aim of coming out on top of the league this season, paving the way for the underage teams coming through the ranks.

ULSTER FINAL:

Congratulations to Declan Walsh and Stephen Mc Laughlin and the rest of the Donegal Team in their place in the Ulster Final. The side will face either Monaghan or Armagh in the Final.

We would like to wish the team the Best of Luck as they face the Killygordon side, and encourage as much as support as possible.

This includes Niall Gallagher, St Marys, Malin Head, Liam Doherty, Scoil Mhuire Gleneely, Oran Doherty and Matthew Mc Larkey Scoil Colmcille, Glengad. Josh Conlon, St. Bodens, Culdaff, and Ronan Kelly, Scoil Noafa Treasa, Malin Town. The Inishowen Team will take on a Derry City Schools Select (City Oaks) in Celtic Park. The Match will take place on Wednesday 2nd of July at 7pm. There will be a training session for the squad on Wednesday 25th of June at 6pm in Buncrana GAA grounds. The Inishowen Girls Team will have a game at a later date to be organised.

U16 BOYS

Last Friday evening seen the Darren Downey and Gary Mc Laughlin Inishowen U16 A Semi Final where Malin faced Muff. In the first 15 minutes of the game the Malin side were ahead with a goal successfully under their belt. However, in the Second half the Muff side begin to change the game and out pointed the young Malin Men. It ended with a final score of Malin 1:09 to Muff 1:13, with the young Malin Men demonstrated some great tackles and runs of play during the game.

U12 BOYS

The U12 Boys travelled to Clonas to see Donegal’s win against Antrim on Sunday. With a well behaved bunch, the team and management enjoyed a great day. This week the U12 Team will travel to Carndonagh on Tuesday for the second game in the Gerry O Neill 15 Aside Competition. Throw in for this game is at 6:30pm with all support welcome.

UNDER 12 GIRLS

Well Done to the U12 Girls who on Wednesday displayed one of their greatest games to date against Moville. With a final score of Malin 13:08 to Moville 0:01. And with an ever expanding squad of 23 girls, the young team put everything they had into this game. Over the last 8 weeks the young team have really come together & developed as a team that we hope will continue for years to come.
