Adam Speer continues his comeback to the sport with a fine 19th place in the Olympic distance triathlon in Portrush with a time of 2.09.37.

He was back to his Donegal GAA duties in Clones on Sunday, but he was possibly the only member of the backroom team who cycled there! Paul O’Gara also did the Olympic race finishing 89th in a commendable time of 2.26.05.

Evelyn Boyle made the long trek to Kitzbhul in Austria representing Ireland as an age grouper in the European Sprint Triathlon. She performed very well as she had been carrying a slight injury.

On the local front Tommy Hill, Liam Tinney and Aidan Gallagher all had PBs in the Buncrana 10k road race on Saturday past.

In the Convoy 5k there was a large amount of PBs as the track work on Tuesdays continues to bear fruit.

This weekend sees The Hell of the West Triathlon in Kilkee, Co. Clare which is a National Series and National Championship Olympic distance race. There are a few club members making the trip and we all wish them well.

Training continues as follows:

Monday Gartan Boathouse Lake Swim session 6.30pm

Tuesday Aura track 7.45pm

Wednesday Aura Pool Swim session 8pm

Thursday TT or Brick Foxhall 7pm

Saturday group cycle Aura Car Park 9.30am.
