GAA NEWS: NAOMH COLMCILLE PROVE TOO STRONG FOR BURT

The seniors and reserves had mixed fortunes in their local derby fixtures at Burt on Sunday.

The reserves lost out but the seniors got back to winning ways.

The seniors claimed local bragging rights with a fantastic win at Burt in a fiercely contested local derby on Sunday.

Burt held the advantage as the game entered it’s closing stage before two points put the visitors back in front and two late goals sealed the win for Naomh Colmcille.

Full time scoreline Burt 0-6 2-7 Naomh Colmcille.

Naomh Colmcille: Marty Callaghan, Mark Callaghan, Alex Devenney, Eddie Gillespie, Paul Friel, Gerard Curran, John Fullerton, Ciaran Devine, Ryan McKinley, Daniel Clarke, Ryan McErlean, Shane McAteer, Matthew Crossan, Willie Gillespie, Joe Donaghy. Subs: Don Hegarty, Richard Clarke, Cathal Curran.

A top-of-the-table home tie against Aodh Ruadh is scheduled for next weekend.

The reserves lost out in the first game at Burt on Sunday. Full time score Burt 3-10 2-10 Naomh Colmcille.

The minors travel to Mulroy Gaels in the Division 1 Championship this week.

The u16s lost out at Glenswilly on Friday evening. They have no game this week.

The U12s travelled to Castlefin on Monday night. They have a home game this Monday (30th).

This year’s Cul Camp runs from the 7th to the 11th of July for all children aged 6 to 13 years. Camp runs from 10 am to 3 pm.

Please bring a packed lunch and dress for the weather! Tuck shop provided.

All children will receive a full football kit and a bag (Donegal colours). Cost is €55 for the first child and €45 for each child thereafter.

The Club are now taking Registrations for Adults, Family, Senior and underage players. Cost is €25 Adult, €50 Family, €50 senior player and €10 underage player. Particular reminder for adult non-playing members that you need to be registered to request Donegal tickets. The deadline for registration is fast approaching. Contact Mark Ferry (087 9154559) or Breda Friel (087 6393503).

The club is again registered for the Sainsbury’s Active Kids scheme so please hand in the collected vouchers so they can be sent away.

The Lucozade Sport Club Crusade promotion has now finished. Please continue to collect bottle tops in anticipation of future promotions. Thanks.

Subscription of €2 per player (up to and including minors) per week for training.

Please make sure you bring your full kit (shorts, track bottoms, boots, sports top/hoodie/coat, drink).

Remember a mouth guard is needed for training sessions as well as matches.

Reminder that the use of mouthguards is now compulsory for all players.

Naomh Colmcille Weekly Lotto.

This week’s numbers are 7, 20, 10, 14, 16 and the most correct winner (matching four numbers) is Oliver and Julie McDaid who wins €75. Next week’s jackpot €5,650. Last week’s numbers were 14, 24, 5, 12, 2 and the most correct winner (matching four numbers) was Tony Hegarty (Alice’s bar) who won €75 The Lotto is the main regular source of fundraising for the club so if you can spare some time to help out it would be greatly appreciated. Contact Breda Friel if you’re able to help.

 

The Club would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for their continued support of the Lotto as it gives the club the essential means of continuing to give our local kids and adults the chance to avail of a great and healthy pastime.
