Lifford Clonleigh Resource Centre

GROW IT/COOK IT WORKSHOPS

Come join BBC Horticulturist Gareth Austin and chef Kerry Rowan for an afternoon of gardening and cooking in the sunshine at your local Community Garden. At this event Gareth Austin will walk us through the community garden highlighting season tasks such as what to sow now, how to improve soil, pest and disease control etc this will be followed by a joint workshop where chef Kerry Rowan showcases some ideas for utilising seasonal produce as well as giving ideas on how to be creative with kitchen left-overs as Horticulturist Gareth will give ideas of how to grow the produce Kerry is using in small spaces – focusing on growing as much produce as possible in limited space.

Weee (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Ireland will hold an electrical recycling day at Lifford/Clonleigh Resource Centre on Saturday 16th August 2014 from 10.00AM – 4.00PM. Any item with a plug or a battery will be accepted.

Camera Club: The Centre is looking at the possibility of setting up a camera club – if you have an interest in photography and would like to exchange idea/tips/chat with other like minded people then give us a call! 074 91 41773.

Binnion Walk: The Third Annual 4k Walk to the Mass Rock at Binnion, the Altar Lee, will take place on Sunday 29 June at 3 pm starting at Maggies Tavern, Carrickmore. It is a €5 donation to participate and funds go in aid of the Ballyduff Community Group Home, Lifford. There will be a barbeque and music after the walk at Maggies.

BLOSSOMS: Blossoms charity shop is open Tuesday to Thursday from 12pm to 4pm and Friday from 10am to 1pm. We would also like you to donate any old items such as books, clothes etc. Thank you for your help and support.

Furniture Transformation using Chalk Paints: We are looking to run another furniture transformation course. If you are interested contact the Lifford/Clonleigh Resource Centre on 074 91 41773. Thank you.

Community Walking Group: Every Wednesday from 11am. It will consist of a warm-up, walk, followed by a cooling down session and a cuppa. These walks will be geared towards you, so we walk within your abilities. They will run for ten weeks and are free. So if you are interested contact the Lifford – Clonleigh Resource Centre on 074 91 41773. Come along and let’s go walking!

Dyslexia support classes. Did you find reading at school difficult, if so, maybe you are dyslexic? Never worry because we have a course that will start you off at the beginning with reading and writing, great tutors, work at your own pace and learn with others at the same level.
