GAA NEWS: URRIS EARN FANTASTIC CHAMPIONSHIP VICTORY OVER ROBERT EMMETS

Urris GAA Notes

JUNIOR A CHAMPIONSHIP: The seniors travelled to Castlefin on Saturday night last to play Robert Emmets in a must win game in the championship. A great finish by the team seen the lads winning: Urris 2-12 Robert Emmets 2-07.  UrrisGaa3

SENIORS & RESERVES: It’s back to league action this Saturday night with both teams home to Aodh Rua (Ballyshannon), games at 6.00pm & 7.30pm. Training continues for both teams on Tuesday & Thursday nights at 7.30pm.

LADIES FOOTBALL: The ladies played Dungloe last week in Straid, final score Urris 4-11 Dungloe 4-06.

MATCH “N” WIN: July 17th: No jackpot winner-numbers drawn: 1,5,12 & 16. €15 winners: Rose Doherty (Gill), Annaugh, Denis Donaghey, Dunaff, Nathan Doherty (Davis), Danielle Gordon, Isle of Doagh & Patricia Mc Elhinney, Gleneely. Jackpot next week €1,860. Big thanks to all our Lotto sellers and to all who support this weekly draw

NIGHT AT THE RACES: The club are hosting a Race Night on Friday August 1st in the Square Bar, Clonmany. Horses now on sale at €10 from all Committee members and both Ladies & men’s team.

DATES FOR THE DIARY: Big Breakfast in St. Mary’s Hall on Saturday August 9th and Quiz Night in the Strand Hotel on Wednesday August 13th. More details in coming weeks.

WELL DONE: To the Donegal Senior & Minor teams on becoming Ulster Champions on Sunday and to all from Inishowen involved with both teams.

BOOT EXCHANGE SCHEME: for Under-age players now up and running: In these times of financial constraints on families the club has introduced this exchange programme-old football boots in good condition that children have out grown can be dropped in or exchanged for a bigger/smaller pair as required. A minimum donation of €5 to the club for the boots that are taken away. Please contact Nichola Lagan on 0866030736 for further information . All boots can be dropped off in the cage at all Under-age training/matches.
