MAN ARRESTED AFTER HE GOES ON RAMPAGE DURING KNIFE-WIELDING INCIDENT

BREAKING NEWS: A man was arrested in Stranorlar last night after he went on the rampage wielding a breadknife.

The incident happened at Drumboe Avenue close to Drumboe Woods.

It is understood the man, who was bare-chested, passed through several properties before exiting close to the Finn Valley College.

A man on the scene is also understood to have been attacked by the man but was not understood to be seriously hurt.

Gardai rushed to the scene after an eye-witness made an emergency call.

One eye-witness told Donegal Daily that five Garda vehicles including two Garda cars, a Garda van and members of the Garda armed unit were at the scene.

The man eventually went into a flat close-by where he was surrounded by Gardai.

He was arrested a short time later after negotiations with Gardai.

It is not known yet what was the cause of the incident.
