GAA NEWS: RED HUGHS EARN GREAT WIN OVER NA ROSSA IN JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP

Senior Men

The lads had a hard fought victory over Na Rossa in the championship on Saturday evening.

It now sees them in a strong position with two out of two victories to start their championship group stage. The final score was Red Hughs 0-10 Na Rossa 0-6 well done lads.

Under 21’s

The under 21s had a good result v Lifford in the Under 21 championship tonight. Missing a few key players the lads that stepped in did themselves justice and will be hard to push out. An excellent defensive performance from all the team. A spread of scores throughout the team which was good to see. Overall a wee bit careless in front of goal but they got the result. The final score Was Red Hughs 1-13 Lifford 1-5

Senior Ladies

Well done to the Red Hughs Ladies and their manager who won their Championship game away to Convoy on Wednesday night, on a scorline of 0-9 to 0-7. A very hard fought game played in the blistering heat, the girls never gave up and worked hard right up to the final whistle.Thanks to all the supporters who came down 2 the Centre of Excellence 2 shout the girls on. The 2nd leg will be played at home date & time 2 be confirmed.

Minor Board

Under 13 Boys

The young lads play their first game of the league away to Downings on Wednesday evening throw in 7.30pm. Good luck to the boys and management

 

Under 16 Boys

 

 

 

Lost out in the division 2 quarter final to a very strong Glenswilly side on Monday evening. Unlucky lads heads up now for the championship.

 

 

 

 

 

Under 16 Girls

 

 

 

 

 

The girls suffered defeat against a very strong Burt team at home last Tuesday evening. But they never gave up and played with heart until the final whistle.

 

Their next game is at home V Convoy this Tuesday at 6.30pm

 

 

 

 

 

Minors

 

 

 

The lads play their final game of the group stages in the championship away to St Eunans B next Monday the 4th of August in O Donnell Park Throw in 7.30pm

 

 

Minor training on Friday evening at 7.30pm

 

 

 

 

 

Local League

 

 

 

 

 

Thanks to everyone who helped throughout the league Managers, referees any anyone who helped set up pitches etc. To the tea ladies who made the tea and parents who brought sandwiches, home baking biscuits etc It was an unbelievable success and all the kids enjoyed every second of it. It’s all about taking part and being part of a team win lose or draw. Well done to all the kids who played they are surely the stars of the future.

 

 

 

 

 

We also had a our own Club Camp last Thursday and Friday. It was once again a great success with over 100 kids coming out to enjoy the fun in the sun. A huge thank you to everyone who gave up their spare time to help out at the camp.
