U21 Success

Well done to our U21s who had a good win over Ardara in the championship, 2-12 to 0-07.

Senior Training

Seniors & Minors Hurling training is on Wednesdays at 7.00pm. All players are urged to make every effort to attend.

Seniors, Reserves, U-18, & U21 Football training is on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 7.30 in the Scarvey.

New players always welcome!

Senior Ladies

Senior Ladies return leg against Naomh Conaill away in one week’s time. The Ladies had a great win in the first leg and all support welcome.

Training every Wednesday at 7.30 in the Scarvey. New members always welcome.

Club Jerseys

Elizabeth Anne is now taking orders for the new Buncrana club jersey. Keep in mind lads that they are player fit/tight fit.

If you want to order one let her know the size and number on back you require, price €50. EA also has club shorts and white shorts are in stock.

Leaving Cert

Good luck from all at the club to those members who got their Leaving Cert results. Hopefully you will have got the points you needed for your course choices.

Remember though, if you don’t get the grades you expected or the points you need for college courses, don’t despair.

Just like Donegal, there’s always more options and way’s to get where you want to go.

Under Age Reports

U16 Football Finals

These will be held at the Centre of Excellence, Convoy on Thursday 21st August at 7pm.

Buncrana will take either Aodh Ruadh or St Eunans in the A Final so good luck to our lads. All travelling support most welcome to cheer them on.

U13 Div 1 Boys Football

U13 stared their season with a win against Fanad Gaels 3-15 to 3-5

Next match is this Wednesday against McCools.

Our U12’s took part in a Blitz in Letterkenny on Saturday. The kids had a great time, played their hearts out and learned a lot from the experience.

Good Luck Buncrana

The County Og Sport finals will take place at Pairc Na Gael, Letterkenny on the 23rd of August.

This will start at 11:00am sharp and will consist of two groups of three teams.

The six teams that have qualified are St Eunans, Buncrana, Sean Mac Cumhaills, Letterkenny Gaels, Kilcar and Adara.

Please note that Under 6 Training is taking a break and will not take place on Friday the 15th August and Friday the 20th August.

It will resume on Friday the 29th August at the usual time.

No Under 8 training until August 28th either.

Summer Fun Camp

Good luck to all the kids (and the coaches and assistants!) who are taking part in the summer camp which started on the 18th August and runs until the 22nd, 10am-3pm.

With around 160 kids taking part we believe this to be one of the biggest (if not the biggest!) camps in Donegal.

Here’s hoping for some nice weather too and what a great way to spend the last few days of the summer holidays. Future stars in the making!

Super Saturday!

What a fantastic example of our GAA club on Saturday.

The club hosted the Buncrana Cup, where four quality U16 county teams from Armagh, Donegal, Monaghan and Derry battled it out to win this prestigious competition which was set up in memory of those killed in the Omagh Bomb.

The club looked after all the players and fed over 70 people upstairs.

Then the annual club BBQ was held with around 150 people turning up to enjoy the burgers, hot dogs, and various refreshments.

A highlight was the scrummy ‘lamb on a spit’ while the Inch Ramblers pounded out the tunes.

On behalf of the club and Bord na nOg, Aidan Mulholland would like to thank all helpers and volunteers for their attendance and help in organising and running these events, it’s all a team effort and thank you.

Ulster GAA are seeking to recruit a full time Regional Hurling Development Officer, as well as a small pool of Key Stage 1 coaches within the GAA Primary School coaching programme.

Club Lotto

The numbers drawn in last week’s lotto were 11, 18, 24, 28. There was no winner but the Jackpot is now almost €4,500. Lotto sellers always wanted so contact Treasurer or Chair Sean Clerkin for more info.

If you have any items which you think should be included in the club’s weekly notes, please email Jim at buncrana.pro@gmail.com by 6pm on each Sunday for consideration.
