A public meeting has been called after residents in the Glenswilly and Churchill areas complained their drinking water smells and is turning an unusual colour.dripping tap

Locals fear the water has been contaminated.

Now local publican Charlie McClafferty has called a public meeting to discuss the matter.

“I have received phonecalls from a lot of people about the water. We need to know what the council is doing about the situation.

“There is obviously something wrong and we need to clarify if this water is fit for human consumption which I fear it is not,” said Mr McClafferty.

The meeting will take place in McClafferty’s Bar in Churchill at 8pm on Monday next.
