UNDER 17 ALL COUNTY CAMOGIE CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL.

The Under 17 Camogie final took place in Milford on Friday evening. Our opponents once again were Burt. In ideal conditions Burt started the better of the two teams.

They opened their account with a long range point. It was battle for every ball and Burt soon tagged on another point. mac Cumhaills kept plugging away and were rewarded when Chloe Kennedy slotted over a free.

She repeated this a few minutes later to leave the teams level.

It was tit for tat for the rest of the half, with Olivia Gillespie scoring a great poachers goal and Burt replying with their own goal minutes later. mac Cumhaills went into the break a point up.

The second half started and it was Burt that were quicker out of the blocks, scoring a goal. Again Mac Cumhaills fought their way back into the game and were rewarded with a goal.

It was nip and tuck for the rest of the game. Laura Brown made a fantastic run down the pitch to score the last point of the game. Final score was 2-05 to 2-02 for Mac Cumhaills.

These girls are dedicated bunch, who won the league as well as the championship this year. They went unbeaten in both. Well done to all the girls and coaches.

UNDER 9 FOOTBALL

The club was asked to enter a team in the prestigious Carryduff under 9 tournament. 26 teams from Donegal, Down, Derry, Armagh, Tyrone and Dublin took part.

We played St bridgigs, Michael Davitts and Caryduff, all from Belfast in the group stages.

We came through top of the group unbeaten.

Our next opponents were the famous St Galls. In a tight match our lads came through once again.

It was then onto the final and Clann Na Gael. In a pulsating final, our lads were two up at halftime.

Playing with the wind in the second halftime boys pushed on and won by four.

This was a great display from these young men. They scored 33 and only conceded 6 scores in the tournament.

To finish the perfect day, Jim Mc Guinness was at the club when the triumphant team returned home. Well done to all the players and coaches.
