GOLF NEWS: SEAN GILROY WINS THE GLENCAR INN GOLF SOCIETY CAPTAIN’S PRIZE

Captains day on Saturday 6th September at Barnhill Golf Club, Letterkenny was a great day for both the club and the Sweeney Family.

On the day we had a suprise with Master Chef himself Mr. Brain Carney dishing out the food after the 9th hole.

Many thanks go to Kieran, Pauline and Family for preperation of the food – Well Done, it was tasty!- the winner was Sean Gilroy, 2nd – Paddy McCafferty, 3rd – Liam Sweeney – Cat 1 – Aidy McAlery, 2nd – MP O’Donnell, Cat 2 – Tony Duffy, 2nd Michael Gibbons – Cat 3 – Dennis O’Donnell, 2nd – Padraig Kavanagh – Cat 4 – Martin Devlin, 2nd – Michael O’Reilly Front 9 – Michael McElhinney, Back 9 – Eamon McGlynn, – Past Captain – Martin Kelly, – Nearest the Pin – Aidy McAlery, Longest Drive – Joe Terry.

Many thanks go to kieran for his expertise on the day, A special word of thanks to the Glencar Inn for the food after the presentation, thank you to the karoke specialists Martin and Derek who kept the party going into the wee hours, and by all accounts ”Ireland’s got Talent”????

Next outing will take place in Portsalon on Sunday 5th October, Format – 3 Ball Scramble
