Nottingham Forest midfielder Stephen McLaughlin has joined Notts County on loan.

The former Finn Harps and Derry City midfielder signed for Nottingham Forest in January 2013.

McLaughlin didn’t feature for Forest competitively until April last year when he played against Leeds United in April.

He had enjoyed a successful loan spell at Bristol City earlier in the campaign.

McLaughlin started for Forest against Spurs in their 3-1 Capital One cup defeat last week.

McLaughlin impressed throughout that defeat to Spurs at White Hart Lane.

However, Forest manager Stuart Pearce has opted to let McLaughlin go on loan to Notts County to get more game time.

McLaughlin has joined Notts County on loan for one month, but that could be extended considering how well the move goes for the Clonmany man.

McLaughlin doesn’t have to move far to make the loan move, as Notts County’s ground Meadow Lane is only situated just across from Nottingham Forest’s City Ground.
