The 64 year old convicted sex offender is being quizzed about the six year old’s disappearance at Mullingar Garda Station.

However the man may have his period extended if Gardai decide they want to quiz him more.

It was being held at the Midlands Prison where he is serving time for a sex offence.

He was due to be released early this afternoon but with breaks, that period will go on until the 24 period is elapsed.
