Several Letterkenny AC athletes were in action in the Dublin Marathon on Bank Holiday Monday.LETTERKENNY AC

First LAC runner home was Paul McGlinchey in 2.50.10. Other LAC finishers were Darren Price 3:12:19, Ciaran O’Donnell 3:12:22, Marie Boyle 3:27:26, Darren Beecroft 3:27:44, Martin McGinley 3:32:13, Pat McKenna 3:36:44, Daniel Cullen 3:52:46 and Rosaleen Doherty 4:18:07.

Well done to all LAC runners for flying the black/amber in this prestigious event. Ex LAC runner, Maria McCambridge, now based in Dublin, had an excellent run, finishing as 2nd woman in 2:34:10. Husband, Gary Crossan, LAC runner for many years, ran 2:38:59 and former LAC athlete, Pauric McKinney ran 2:33:12.

There was no senior cross country action in Donegal last weekend. However, this Sunday, the Finn Valley centre will be the location for the biggest event in the Donegal cross country calendar, the Senior Cross Country Championship. The men’s and women’s events are always keenly contested, for both individual and team prizes.

Also, subsumed within this event are the trial for the selection of Donegal athletes for the National Inter Counties Cross Country Championship. This year’s national event, in late November, will be held in Dundalk, which will mean a relatively short journey for the Donegal athletes chosen. LAC hopes to have strong teams competing in both events.
