FOUR MASTERS DRAW WITH MONAGHAN HARPS IN ‘THRILLING’ ULSTER INTERMEDIATE FINAL

The Four Masters GAA Senior Ladies team that was narrowly defeated in their Ulster Internediate Final at Brewster Park.

The Four Masters GAA Senior Ladies team have earned a replay after a thrilling finale in their Ulster Internediate Final at Brewster Park.

There was chaotic confusion at the end of Four Masters Senior Ladies Intermediate Ulster final against Monaghan Harps at Brewster Park.

Having thought they had initially secured a draw in a thrilling finale, they were then informed they had won the Ulster title.

However, in another twist they were then told the game did in fact end in a draw.

Four Masters produced an excellent performance throughout the match, and pushed Monaghan Harps all the way to the very end.

Monaghan Harps settled the better and adapted to the conditions quicker than Four Masters.

Played in difficult conditions, scores were at a premium throughout the game and goals were always going to be critical scores.

Monaghan Harps first score of the match was a goal, and that rocked Four Masters.

However, Four Masters are an excellent side and showed their character and resilience to respond with some excellent points.

They went in at the break trailing by two points.

Monaghan Harps added the first score of the second-half to lead by three points, before Four Masters stunned them with a superb goal.

It was tremendous play from Four Masters to set-up the chance for Patrice Rooney who dispatched her effort expertly.

However, Monaghan Harps showed their quality and experience and rallied superbly adding five unanswered points to take command.

However, Four Master hit back again with another fantastic goal.

Absolutely superb play from Kate McGowan seen her sail past a series of Monaghan Harps players to find the back of the net.

Then Kelly Lacey pointed from a free to level the game up, and that’s how the game finished.

Howver, there was then some remarkable scenes at the finish, when Four Masters when they informed that had in-fact WON the Ulster title sparking celebrations.

However it then emerged the game was in-fact a draw and the two teams will now meet again in a replay.
