Tir Chonaill Gaels PicTir Chonaill Gaels Club Notes:

Seniors:

Our domestic season came to a finish last Saturday with us beating Round Towers in the Conway cup final and in doing so winning our fourth London trophy.

It has been a great journey for these bunch of lads after the disappointments of the previous season to come out and show great grit and determination to win all in front of them.

Credit must go to new manager Barney Breen who in his first year back in London since the mid-eighties has brought his own style and ideas to the table and it has proven a journey worth taking.

For the record our senior team has won Conway and Tipperary cups. League, championship and our sevens tournament with our reserve team winning the league and championship.

So all said it has been a remarkable season for the club with still the All-Ireland club Quarter final against the Connaught championships to be played on Sunday 14th December in Ruislip.

RIP:

The club pass on our condolences to former member and Social club manager Adrian Byrne who sadly lost his brother Stephen to illness last week in Australia.

The burial took place last Friday at his home village of Glencolmkille in Co Donegal, our thoughts and prayers are with Adrian and his family at this difficult time.

Quiz Night:

Many thanks to all of the teams who attended our quiz night last Saturday evening in the club house which was a club fundraiser. Well done to quiz masters Barney and Stocker in keeping the house in order.

Wedding Bells:

Congratulations to club player Keith Morrow who recently tied the knot with fiancé Catriona in a reception in County Offaly.

Paul Coggins:

Club stalwart Paul Coggins has taken on another year as London football manager after completing his three year term. Paul without doubt has brought the County team to another level and all at the club wish him well for the coming season.

Michael Kingston:

All at the club pass on our best wishes to assistant club PRO Michael Kingston who recently was awarded the Lloyds list award as Maritime lawyer of the year.

Michael does a great amount of work for the club behind the scenes and this is a great achievement to collect this award.

Farewell:

The club bids farewell to club member Chris McGovern who is leaving these shores to take up work in his home county of Derry.

Lottery:

Lotto results for 23/10/14 Jackpot £3000, numbers drawn 1-8-14-16

No jackpot winners £25 lucky dip winners Jim Cunningham, c/o Three Wishes, Declan Lennon, Online, Luke Kavanagh, c/o T O’Connor, Karen Doherty, c/o Conningham Arms.
