Shaun Mc Shane is back in action on Saturday night when he faces Bulgarian opponent Radoslav Mitev.

Leitirmacaward boxer Shaun Mc Shane has issued a rallying cry ahead of his bout with Radoslav Mitev at the Ravenscraig Regional Sport Facility in Motherwell on Saturday night.

The talented Bulgarian caused a major surprise when he defeated the highly-rated Eddie Doyle in June.

Mc Shane who has underwent surgery on a troublesome knee problem since his last fight is raring to get back into the ring.

Mc Shane says  his training camp has went really well, and his preparation for the forthcoming fight has been ideal.

Mc Shane told Donegal Daily, “I got surgery on the knee during the summer, and I probably didn’t expect to return to the ring so soon.

“However, when the fight was presented to me, I wasn’t going to turn it down, I love a challenge and to be honest I’m just raring to get back into the ring.

Mc Shane admitted he doesn’t know much about his opponent, but the fact he defeated Eddie Doyle means he won’t be no pushover and Mc Shane will give him the respect he deserves.

Mc Shane said, “I don’t know much about him, but he caused somewhat of an upset when he beat Eddie Doyle.

“He’s a good boxer and it’s going to be a tough fight on Saturday, but I’m confident in my own ability and I believe I can win.

“He’s never faced a Donegal man before, he won’t know what hit him on Saturday night.

With a mass invasion of Irish fans expected to descend on Glasgow this weekend for the Euro 2016 qualifier, it’s expected a large number will make their way to the venue on Saturday to cheer on Mc Shane.

Mc Shane said “The support I’ve received so far in the fights have been overwhelming, it’s been brilliant.

“It really does give you extra energy, and I’m hoping it’s a good weekend, hopefully Ireland can win on Friday night and I can complete the double on Saturday, he joked.
