The St Eunan’s U13 Girls who lifted the County A Championship

Club Notes – Naomh Adhamhnáin – In Association with Letterkenny Shopping Centre

The Seniors bowed out of the Ulster Championship on Sunday at the hands of Omagh St. Enda’s on a score of 1-08 to 0-08. The tired legs of 8 weeks football on the trot finally got the better of them. Nevertheless we are immensely proud of their efforts this year in bringing the Dr. Maguire back to O’Donnell Park once again. Thanks to Maxi and all the players for giving us a brilliant year.

Well done to Dowdsy and the Reserves on Saturday, they showed great composure in the final replay to bring the trophy to O’Donnell Park after a 6 year gap. After a couple of near misses during his first spell in charge, it was a great reward for manager Paul O’Dowd, Noel and all the players.

Not to be outdone, the U13 girls turned in a great display against Moville in their county final on Saturday at the splendid Coláiste Ailigh pitch to run out winners by 6-04 to 2-07. The girls led by 9 at half-time and maintained that advantage at the final whistle. Every time the Moville girls got a score in the 2nd half, the girls marched up the field and answered with a score of their own.

The Minor boys are back in championship action this Sunday (23rd) when they meet Gaoth Dobhair in the Northern Championship Final in Glenswilly at 12:30pm. Please get out to support the boys.

There will be a meeting of all underage football coaches this Thursday (Nov. 20th) in the Clubhouse at 7pm. This meeting will be used to review our current structures with a view to putting plans into place, sharing knowledge and developing ideas. If you hope to be involved with a team in future, it is vital you attend. If you want anything added to the agenda for this meeting, please contact Pauric Daly on 087-126 8535.

The Minor Board AGM will now take place on Thursday, December 11th in the Clubhouse at 7pm. Nomination and motions papers will be sent by club e-mail shortly.

The Friday evening Hurling & Camogie Academy has returned after a short break. The U10’s – U14’s (boys) are outside on the astro at Aura between 6:30pm and 7:30pm. The U6’s and U8’s (boys and girls) begins this Friday (14th) indoors in the hall at Aura. Cost is €3 per child. Hurls and helmets are available and new members are welcome. Contact Eunan O’Donnell with any queries on 087-677 5637.

We are hosting a night in the theatre for Bugsy Malone, directed by Kieran Kelly on Thursday, December 4th, tickets €20 with all proceeds going to refurbish the Clubhouse. Keep an eye on social media and notes for details in the coming weeks.
