Tickets for the hugely anticipated ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ organised by Deele College went on sale this week and already the organisers of the spectacular dance show believe they’re going to need the ‘sold out’ sign very soon!

“The show isn’t on until December 6th in the Mount Errigal Hotel, but already demand for tickets has been phenomenal. The phone in the school has been hopping and we cannot believe the level of interest,” said Caitriona Bonner one of the teachers involved in organising the event.

With teachers, staff members, students, past-pupils and parents from the school community all involved, not to mention special performances on the night from the TY classes, it’s no wonder however that there’s a huge buzz about the upcoming show.

And that excitement is likely to increase even further in the last few weeks of the run-up following the revelation at Monday night’s launch of the full line-up of dancers for the evening.

“The dancers have been absolutely fantastic, giving up hours and hours of free time to prepare for the show not to mention getting sponsorship and selling tickets. It goes without saying that we really couldn’t have done this without them showing such commitment and I’m sure the huge audience on the night will give them a rousing reception in appreciation of all their hard work,” Deele College principal Joe Boyle told Monday night’s launch.

In addition Mr Boyle thanked all of the businesses that had given sponsorship for the event, in particular the show’s main sponsor, Glebe Builders in Donegal Town.

“Events like this can rarely go ahead without securing sponsorship, but we are well aware that these are still difficult times for many businesses and we are truly thankful to all the sponsors and particularly to Glebe Builders who came on board as the main sponsor for the event,” the school principal added.

He also thanked Marian Shiels who has spent several weeks teaching all of the dancers ahead of the show and Lee Gooch who will be MC for the evening of the 6th

Until then of course, the dancers will continue rehearsing and says Maureen O’Donnell – another of the teachers organising the show to raise funds for new canteen facilities at the school – they are all determined to fine-tune their performances before they take to the floor of the Mount Errigal.

“From what I’ve already seen at their rehearsals every one of the dancers is intent on turning in a stunning display on the night. I’d urge anyone thinking of coming along to get tickets early because I am certain from the demand that they will be all sold out very quickly indeed.”
