Donegal based start-up company Uppiddee Ltd has announced it has raised €200,000 to help roll out its project which will ultimately make the workplace a happier and healthier place.
Uppiddee is the brainchild of entrepreneur David O’Neill and co-founder Killian McMahon who have successfully raised €200,000 in seed capital from private investors and Údarás na Gaeltachta in less than a fortnight.
David O’Neil told Donegal Daily, “This is an Irish fund-raising success based in a rural and Irish-speaking region.
Uppiddee already employs three full-time employees and plans to employ up to eleven people in the next three years.
David disclosed some startling facts regarding wellness within the workplace and has recognized the need for a software platform such as Uppiddee.
David said, “Only 2% of companies evaluate the cost effectiveness of wellness programmes, and only 24% of employees participate in a corporate wellness programme when it is offered to them?
“Uppiddee is a software platform, which will make workplaces happier, healthier and more productive.
“At Uppiddee we combine engaging tools for employees to use and advanced data analytics to improve physical and mental health; and drive engagement, retention and productivity improvements for companies.
In the United States, companies now spend an average of $521 per employee per year on wellness incentives.
David added, “Uppiddee will provide a platform to maximise the effectiveness of wellness programmes; crucially for both companies and employees.
Uppiddee will soon be announcing its 90-day ‘Champions for Health’ programme, which will encourage employees to engage with their colleagues inside and outside their organisation across a range of wellbeing initiatives.
