ATHLETICS NEWS: ROSSES AC TO HOST PRESENTATION FUNCTION THIS WEEKEND

Rosses AC - U16 Girls team gold meda winners in 4 by 200m Relay - Jessica Oglesby, Rebecca Greene, Saskia Boyle,  Fodhla Nic PhaidínRosses AC

Rosses AC Juvenile presentation function will take place in Ionad Naomh Pádraig, Dore on Sunday 7th December at 5pm. All parents are asked to bring their children along. For more info from Ita or Bríd.

The Adult presentation night will take place on Friday 12th December in An Chuirt starting at 8pm. All adults involved in the club are encouraged to come along. It will be nice to catch up after a hectic year and there will be food and beverages available.

 

Donegal Sportshall Athletics trials in the Aura, Letterkenny on Sunday 14th Dec from 1pm to 4pm. Age groups are U-13: Born Sept-Dec 2001, 2002 and Jan-Aug 2003. U-15: Born Sept-Dec 1999, 2000 and Jan-Aug 2001. Sportshall Athletics continues on Mondays in Gweedore from 6-7pm and in the gym RCS, Dungloe at 6.45 – 7:45pm for children born 2007 and older. For Health and Safety reasons we cannot accommodate children born 2008 or younger. Fee €2.

 

Naomh Muire GAA Club will host Sean McGrory Project Manager of Jigsaw Donegal for a one hour talk this Friday December 5th at 7pm in the Banks. The talk is for Adults, Parents, Coaches, Committees, Teachers and all those who wish to improve their understanding of the key issues impacting on mental health and well-being of young people. The talk aims to help us understand the value of listening as a way of supporting young people. This is open to everyone in the. Tea afterwards with information available. Good luck to Ciaran McGonagle who will represent the club on the Donegal team in the All Ireland Novice Championships in Santry Dublin this Sunday December 7th.

 

A new Fit4life session started in early November in the gym RCS, Dungloe with coach Sinead Diver.

Fit4life is a programme for all whether you are a complete beginner or a regular jogging/runner. The programme will help you to achieve improved levels of fitness and wellness within the club structure in a fun, sociable environment. Training sessions allow runners/walkers to train at an appropriate level. There is progression from Walking to Jogging to Running. No previous experience is needed. Fit4life group meet at Carrickfinn track on Saturday mornings at 10 am with coach Sinead Diver. New members welcome.

 

Training sessions are happening on Wednesday evenings at 7pm at the Industrial Estate. Please feel free to come along and join the adult group who do a long run in the forestry every Sunday morning at 11am. Meet at the Blue Bridge, Arduns, Gweedore.

 

Some upcoming events are: Dec 7th – All Ireland Even Ages and Novice C.C. Championships, Santry Dublin. Dec 4th – 5k in Letterkenny at 9:30pm. Dec 14th – Turkey Trot Letterkenny. Dec 16th – Goal Mile, Letterkenny. Dec 26th – Darren Mills Memorial 5k – Viking House.
