GAA NEWS: URRIS U21’S IN CHAMPIONSHIP ACTION AGAINST GLENFIN THIS WEEKEND

ULSTER JUNIOR CLUB FINAL: The senior team travelled to Owenbeg on Saturday night to play Tyrone champions Rock in the Ulster Club Final.

They came up against a very strong side and were beaten on a score of Rock 2-12 Iorras 0-7. On behalf of the Iorras/Inishowen Gaels home and abroad we can commiserate with Danny Kelly and the Lads but also feel very proud of this historic run in Ulster. It has been a great effort by each and every person involved. Massive thanks to Danny, Mark, their back room team and every player who gave up so much of their time this season especially.

You can hold your heads high lads, we are all proud of you and you have put Urris/Inishowen back on the Ulster GAA map.

Special thanks also to all the supporters who travelled near and far on Saturday night and all year to cheer on the team.

You have given the boys such a lift each and every match, this is very much appreciated by the club. Thanks, also to the Ballyliffin Hotel, Centra and all sponsors who have helped out on match days and this run in Ulster.

UNDERAGE PRESENTATIONS: The annual under age presentations take place on Friday (December 5th) in the Ballyliffin Hotel at 6.00pm. Parents and all children welcome as well as all children who played from U10 to U16. Adult meal of turkey and ham/roast beef cost €10.

Children’s meal of burger & chip / Nuggets etc cost €5. Can all parents and under age coaches please contact Susan Mc Carron on 0863945954 as soon as possible regarding numbers attending on the night.

The hotel is looking for numbers by cob on Wednesday night. For further details please contact Susan.

CLUB MEETING: There is a club meeting on Wednesday night at 8.00pm.

U21 TEAM: The U21 play Glenfin in Buncrana on Saturday at 2.00pm. Support most welcome.

CLUB IORRAS: Club Iorras November winners: €50-Mary & Patsy Devlin, Annaugh, €30-James B Kelly, Dunaff, and €20-David & Grace Hession, Roxtown. Thanks to all who support our monthly Club Iorras draw.

MATCH “N” WIN: Match “N” Win November 27th: No jackpot winner: numbers drawn: 6, 13, 19 & 24. €15 winners: Kathleen & Brigid C/O Bingo, Mc Caul Family, Rooskey, Emlyn Lackin, Mindoran, Marie & Nuala C/O Bingo and Charlie Doherty (B Harley), Urrismana. Jackpot next week €1,180. Thanks to all our lotto sellers and to all who support our weekly draw.

SCOR NA nOG COUNTY FINAL: Good luck to our dancers who take part in the Ulster semi-final of Scor Na nOg in Glenullin, Co Derry on Sunday night. Best of luck girls.

BUY A BLOCK PHASE 2: Due to a successful Clubhouse Opening and renewed interest the club has decided to run “Buy a Block “phase 2 until December 31. If interested, blocks can be purchased for €10. Funds raised will be used for further development of our clubhouse . Please contact John Friel, Rose Kelly or any committee member to buy a block.

NATIONAL GAA DRAW: National Club Draw tickets now on sale by all Committee members, some excellent prizes to be won. All monies raised by this draw stays with the club. Tickets are €10.

U8 TRAINING: U8 traing continues every Saturday in the Youth Club, Clonmany at 11.00am. €2 per child.

U10 Girls: Training continues every Saturday at 12.15pm in the Youth Club, Clonmany. €2 per child.

AGM: The AGM takes place on this Sunday December 7th in the Clubhouse at 6.00pm. Hope to see you all there.
