A COUNTY Donegal girl aged just eight has asked for something very simple for Christmas – a mattress to sleep on.
The child has been sleeping on the floor as her family struggles to cope with life in this country in 2014.
With a great deal of focus, rightly, on the homeless, it can be too easy to forget that some families have a roof over their heads but little else.
Amanda Gamble launched a campaign on social media today in an effort to get a mattress – or a bed – for the child.
“My friend knows a family who wouldn’t have very much, one of the children is just 8years old and is sleeping on the floor and has asked Santa for a bed,” said Amanda.
“The other children share one bed from what I know. This is a genuine ask….if anyone could help please get in touch.”
