After a busy first Christmas, Michael Murphy Sports and Leisure is gearing up for 2015.

The shop’s massive January sale continues with huge reductions across all leading brands, including Nike, Asics, Adidas, Puma, Canterbury and Underarmour.

There are also big reductions in the golf shop, so whether you’re a golfer, a GAA fan, an outdoor enthusiast or a fitness fanatic, you’ll pick up great bargains at the Station Roundabout shop in Letterkenny.

While only open five months, Michael Murphy Sports and Leisure hit the ground running in 2014. Since opening its doors in August, the shop has welcomed visitors from across Donegal and further afield.

The opening weekend saw thousands of visitors flock to the store, while the Facebook page reached 10,000 likes in just one week.

The first few weeks in business coincided with the All-Ireland fever that gripped Donegal this summer. The place was a hive of activity, as media from RTE to Sky Sports and Today FM broadcast from the shop in an effort to capture the colour and excitement within the county.

Other visitors in these first few months included Donegal boxer Jason Quigley, snooker champion Ken Doherty and World Number One Darts Champion, Michael van Gerwen and Adrian ‘Jackpot’ Lewis. In November, Michael captained the International Rules team in Australia, before Neil Gallagher and himself headed off to Boston for the All-stars tour.

In December, the shop added another All-Ireland winner to its team, when Laura Gallagher and her Termon Ladies’ colleagues became the first Donegal club to win any level of All-Ireland ladies football club title. Another team member, Tony McNamee, topped off 2014 by signing with Finn Harps and winning an U21 medal with Milford GAA.

Michael, Neil and all the team at Michael Murphy Sports and Leisure would like to thank everyone for their support in their first year in business and wish their customers a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.
